IN CELEBRATION OF A LIFE On March 11, 2006, Charles M. Tanner went to be with the Lord he loved and served for most of his life. As the Founder and sole Playwright for Covenant Players, Chuck’s passing was a time of great sadness – and rejoicing - for us, and great joy for him. Chuck suffered a massive stroke in 1998, and experienced failing health in the intervening years. He died peacefully, with his family, suffering no pain. His wife, Dorie, and daughters, Covenant Players’ International Director Bobbi M. Johnson-Tanner, Christina Morris and Suzanne Goettl, together with Bobbi’s husband, Mark, Christina’s daughter, Jennifer, and Suzanne’s husband, Robin, and daughter, Erin Skye, are grateful for the love and support of those individuals worldwide who have communicated their love for Chuck and sense of loss to them. They – and all Covenant Players – celebrate Chuck’s life, are blessed with the legacy of his plays and foundational leadership of Covenant Players, and are committed to serving powerfully while honoring the Lord, and Chuck’s gifts and legacy. A special service to celebrate Chuck's life was held on Thursday, July 13, 2006. For further information on the service, please contact the World Headquarters at the address and phone below. Dorie has asked that, in lieu of flowers, gifts may be made in Chuck's name to either Covenant Players, or to the charity of your choice.
