A new DVD production honoring 40 years of Covenant Players’ ministry!
Commitment
In July of 2003, CP’s Founder and Playwright, Chuck Tanner, realized a long-standing dream; to bring Covenant Players together from all over the world for one special Retreat. It was a wonderful experience! Now, many of you will remember what it was like when we would video every play at CPCC and even some of the Banquet. In that same spirit, we determined to take video cameras with us and try to preserve CP’s 40th Anniversary Celebration at Tahquitz Pines, Idyllwild, CA. David Jansen and Schy Gleason spent most of their retreat with a camera on their shoulder, recording interviews and stories – chronicling the miracles that have kept CP going for 40 years. The raw material for a video was there; but it took Schy's enthusiasm, commitment, time, energy, and equipment to make our Celebration of Faith video a reality. Something that would capture the memories for those who were there and bless those who were unable to attend.

The idea grew and we added digital photos and historical pictures – and all of the features listed below:

- A 35-minute video presentation, centering on the Retreat, filled with snips of the plays, commentaries in Chuck’s voice on ministry and drama, and a retrospective of CP’s first 40 years.

- 40 minutes of interviews with active and non-touring CPers.

- 500+ photographs of the Retreat, and dozens of pictures and clippings, spanning four decades of CP stage productions, get-togethers and on-the-road performances.

- A biography of Charles M. Tanner, Playwright and Founder of Covenant Players.

Celebration of Faith has been produced through Schy Gleason’s generous donation of time and money. It was Schy’s desire that the DVDs would raise money for CP’s ongoing ministry, so we are making copies available for a minimum donation of $20 (and a free-will offering – no, just kidding!).

The first $20.00 of any donation will go towards CP's "Unit Equipment Fund". These funds help to purchase and maintain computers, printers, software, and cell phones for the units on the road. Any contribution above and beyond $20.00 will be designated to sponsor performances, allowing CP units in the field to serve groups that have a real need but no available resources. Your gift can help make the CP ministry accessible to churches, schools, halfway houses, crisis centers, juvenile homes, prisons, hospitals, senior care facilities - places across the country or around the corner, where ‘two or more are gathered’.
